We Are but Creatures of the Sea

An ongoing documentary series that explores the relationship between coastal communities and the Arabian Sea, in Southern Maharashtra, India.

The southern district of Sindhudurg in Maharashtra, has a rich biodiversity owing to the fact that ecological tourism and local conservation measures were carried out in the area way ahead of their time. A stark contrast to it's neighbouring state of Goa, the region has rich marine ecology but has witnessed lesser economic growth over the past few decades.

Current economic and industrial initiatives in the region threaten the biodiversity, the relationships of which I seek to explore through this series.
